It's Been A Busy Month

In discussing this site with a friend, we decided that it would be interesting to actually calculate how many days we have been without the van due to it being repaired and/or in waiting for repairs So, I sat down and did just that... and the result is astonishing. We have been without our van for a total of 151 days (as of November 20, 2004). That is 25% of the total time that we have been leasing the vehicle. One out of every four days our van has been in the shop.
The response from the Aurora Santa Claus Parade has been amazing. My inbox has been flooded with e-mails of support and with e-mails detailing horror stories similar to mine. At some point in the near future, I hope to add some of these other stories to my site.

Thank you to those who have been requesting DoNotBuyDodge.ca business cards. I appreciate all of your efforts in handing these out on my behalf. To date, I've had requests for over 3,000 cards to be mailed. Several people are handing these out to their clients. I've even had several requests for cards to be handed out at Christmas parties.

Ellen Roseman of the Toronto Star published an article in today's Saturday Star regarding my web site. Ellen has been in touch with me several times over the past month discussing my web site and the impact that it has been having. She told me that she was interested in writing an article on how creating a web site to discuss your complaints can help force a manufacturer to make things right.
I'm a little upset as the article did not take this viewpoint at all. It is also very poorly written and is incorrect on a number of facts. But, oh well... It has generated a lot of interest and a lot of new visitors for my web site.
My favourite part of the article is the quote from Frank, the General Manager at MacIVER Dodge. "We've gone 110 per cent." I've heard that from Frank so many times, it just makes me laugh. If you've read through this site, you'll understand why. Putting my family in danger, stealing my personal property, not completing repairs (over and over again), lying to me, laughing at me - now that surely is 110 per cent!!!

We've hit 500,000 visitors. Unbelievable!
I have so many e-mails from people detailing MAJOR problems that they have had with the Daimler Chrysler vehicles and with the service that they have received from MacIVER Dodge. I've been in touch with people who have even had the same issues with their van as I have been having with mine. My problems are definitely not an isolated incident. Shortly into the new year I hope to have these other stories published on my web site as well. Stay tuned.
I have also been able to get my hands on internal information from Daimler Chrysler that seems to show that water leakage in Caravan roofs is a known problem. Very interesting! I am following up on this and will have more information posted soon.
