Getting Used to Owning a Dodge
January-April 2004
We grew a little tired of arguing with MacIVER Dodge and we more-or-less became accustomed to the problems in our vehicle. We assumed that these issues were just part of owning a Daimler Chrysler product. The defrost issue continued, as did the problems with the power doors and the clicking sound from the wheels. We did not witness any leaking, although on several occasions there was some moisture/condensation that might have indicated that leaking had occurred. Then, we started to experience some other problems...

Today I was cleaning out our van and I noticed that there was a hardened substance on the carpet just between the driver seat and the beam the separates the front door from the side sliding door. I got a wet rag and the color seemed to wipe up fine. It did still leave a hardened texture on the carpet though. I didn't think too much of it at the time. I thought that maybe someone had spilled some coffee.

The volume knob on the radio has started to act weird. On two occasions today, we could turn the volume down, but not up. When we cycled the power on the radio a couple of times, the volume knob started working again.

We had the issue with the volume knob again today.

We experienced the problem with the volume knob again today. It happened over the weekend a couple of times as well. And, the stupid clicking sound from the wheels is really starting to annoy us.

I was driving along this evening and the rear interior lights just came on. I checked the interior lighting switch to the left of the steering wheel
and it had no effect. I had to stop the vehicle and physically turn off each light individually. Very odd!

The interior lights came on twice today while we were driving along.
