Mississauga Regional Office

Friday, June 25, 2004
We were getting tired of the dead-ends we were at with Daimler Chrysler Customer Service and with MacIVER Dodge, so we decided to drive to the Daimler Chrysler regional office in Mississauga. Frank (General Manager at MacIVER) pulled us aside several weeks ago and told us that the regional office was at 407 and Dixie. "You can't miss it" were his words, and "Don't tell anyone I told you where it is. I'm not supposed to tell you."

Thanks Frank. There is no regional office at 407 and Dixie - just one more of your lies!!! However, there was another dealership in that area that did tell us where the regional office is - 6500 Mississauga Road in Mississauga.

We arrived at the regional office and walked into the front lobby. We were greeted with a couple of couches, 2 locked doors, a list of extensions, and a phone. No receptionist. No person to talk to. Just typical of Daimler Chrysler... Why would they want to actually meet their customers?

There was a sign (see above) instructing us not to knock on the doors, but rather to use the phone to try and reach someone. I started dialing extensions and no one was answering. We could hear people behind the doors, but I couldn't get anyone on the phone.

So, I started knocking on the doors. About five minutes passed and my knocking turned to pounding, before a man finally came out to greet us. I explained our situation and without giving me a chance to respond, he indicated that he would get me a phone number and be right back. He walked out and closed the door behind him.

Fifteen minutes went by and he never returned, so I started pounding on the doors again. Finally another man came out. His name was Jack and he claimed to be a marketing manager. He's obviously been through training on how to deal with irate customers. He pretended to care and took our package of documentation. He promised to give it to another gentleman, Al, and indicated that Al or him would call us on Monday to let us know what was happening.

(Just a little note to anyone else who needs to go to these drastic measures. Daimler Chrysler won't let you talk to anyone in their organization who is actually dealing with your issues. However, if you visit the Mississauga regional office, there is a nice little phone list posted on the bulletin board inside the front door. This list has full names, positions, and phone numbers. You are usually only given the first name of anyone who is reviewing your case, but from this list, you should be able to find out who it is and give them a phone call directly!)
